Our History
Our story begins in 1966, when Albert “Al” Strickett founded MacDonald Industries, which was then a specialist manufacturer, importer and installer of waste disposal equipment.
In the early 1980s, MacDonald Industries expanded into the commercial washroom plumbing market when Ian and David Strickett, Albert’s sons, joined him and drove the company toward even bigger goals. They invested in research, development, and manufacturing and propelled the company from its successful position as a supplier to that of a major player in the commercial washroom plumbing market.
Award winning products, such as Waterguard ® and Warden ®, made MacDonald Industries a leader in electronic sensor equipment and high-performance security products, while also leading the market through introducing new technologies such as the Direct Flush Valve from Zurn and Rimless flush toilets from RAK. The same technical, innovative, pragmatic, can-do attitude lives on in the business today.
In 2020, Andrew Maddren, Ian and David’s nephew and Chris Ford, purchased the family business to uphold the tradition of excellence and innovation that MacDonald Industries has come to represent and to drive the company even further.
